[WoW] What is that "chest" for?

Since going to Horde.. I have noticed in a bunch of Mob camps, and in a few caves, a brown/dark-copper looking chest with gold trim shaped like a footlocker, that is half the size of a "treasure chest" but completely unusable.

    For a future quest maybe?

I'm keeping tabs on where I've seen them though.

I can only remember seeing this once or twice Alliance side (the quest to take a flute and keep the sleeping guy awake and escort him to Ashenvale is one) but they were all useable when found.

It's for Rogues to practice their lockpicking, I think.

    Brazbit Nah... It can't be.

Yup sounds like rouge chests. Often an apple or piece of linen in them. Sometimes you might get lucky and find a green item but it is rare.

Another thing I have noticed more of on the horde side is weapon crates. They are just randomly scattered in town and tent to have a low level item in them. More that a few times I have needed an extra silver and just looked around and found them nearby in towns. Also a lot more food crates and water barrels. Perhaps it is the desolateness of the terrain that makes them stand out.

A weapon crate I find regularly appears behind the gazebo like structure the weaponsmiths are near in cross roads. Just looks like a normal crate but has the gear and arrow cursor when you put your mouse over it.

Hmm... like the waterlogged footlockers you see in Zoram Strand?

These don't even have a tooltip or change the cursor when moused over like they do.

If ya want to see one, get to the "boss" in Skull Rock cave.. He is practically standing on one.
