That would be the big 4 that roughly 300 million of us follow, Baseball, Football (the real man kind), Basketball and Hockey. OK, add about 30 million Canucks for that last one....

Talk about some lonely sports....

    Stiofan,

I think that Cricket would have about 3 times the following of any of the 'Big 4', and Rugby would be about the same as your pansy padded 'footballers'.

Well those Swiss beat Spain. A big surprise there.

Australia has always been a wannabe soccer team. We have never been up to the real world standards we aspire to and think we can achieve. More hope than ability.

He's great isn't he.:) What's more, I agree with him. Those bloody vuvuzelas are a pain.

Biggest upset so far. Although watching the last 10 mins and it was like the SUI had the entire team in the box. ;)

Mexico has all but eliminated France from the competition. Ironically they are the only ones that can save France now...

I'm recording the Germany/Serbia, U.S./Slovenia, and England/Algeria matches today for viewing tonight, so please use spoilers in any discussions of results. :) :sohelpmegod:

My company is treating us to an ice cream social at 2PM, so I took a fashion risk and sent the following email to all staff at HQ. Fortunately, my CEO is very cool and sent the following response: "FLOL!"

So N. Koreans decide to air a LIVE game for the first time... well, I can't recall.

And what happens? They lose 7-0.

    Sadness ensues: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jNZ5uRvSF5B90Nm6gUR9eq21laOwD9GFTKHO2

Seriously though, that is the most depressing thing I've read in a while outside of the US.

Lets hope the NK's don't suffer as the Iraqi team did under Sadam, or his son, when they lost a soccer match.

If Dear Leader had been playing goalie the result would have been a lot different of course.
