Why Is Football Allowed?

ShinyTop I know what is right or wrong!

I know football is not going anywhere and I love to follow college football. But with all the studies showing the long term effects of football on the players it would appear the sport should be banned.

Studies are showing the effect on the brain of the collisions involved with the game. The effect on mobility are well documented with Jim Plunkett being the latest speaking out. Reading the article on Plunkett also exposes the NFL teams dispensing of pain killers like popcorn.

My conclusion that banning football will not happen also illustrates a disturbing fact of life, that we are quite willing to pay to watch humans brutalizing other humans. The money that football has is also a big reason it will never go away.

Why would any loving parent allow their child to play football?

    That's an easy one.

Especially if the kid is decent and has a bright future in college/pro ball.
