I've seen the media bias in the US before, currently however, they are not even hiding it anymore. I don't like Trump. I don't like Hillary. But the way Trump has been bashed by the supposed neutral and objective media?

I have not believed in the neutrality of journalism for a long time. But when you have a candidate for the highest office in the land make the kind of statements made by Trump how can you differentiate between partisanship and honest reporting? It was Trump that has me leaning towards Clinton (nose tightly held), not the press.

Yet, how can you trust the press to be reporting truthfully what Trump is actually saying, and in what context he's saying it in?

The press is so rabid in its attempt to sway the election, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to find out that the press has been withholding/falsifying information. Or at least twisting it in a manner that makes it appear to be fact.

You pays your money and you takes your chances. My sources of news include CNN, Fox, Washington Post, New York Times, and local reporting. So I believe the quotes and context end up being fairly credible. For instance, I never thought that Trump was calling for assassination, yet some of the press did espouse exactly that. Primary news TV is from ABC. And yes, they are very liberal but they have had interviews giving chances for Trump to back down or explain some of the more outrageous statements and he has not backed down or explained them to my satisfaction.

Hillary panders to the money and Trump panders to the fear of people without money. Our choices are terrible but I cannot imagine Trump and Pence occupying the White House.

Rick, I will give you a few examples.

Remember when Trump kicked out the baby? Well, it wasn't just NYDN who did the reporting, it was all over the news.
FALSE: Donald Trump Kicked a Crying Baby Out of a Political Rally

Here's another of Trump donating play-doh to the LA flood victims

Donald Trump Donated Play-Doh, Other Items to Louisiana Flood Victims

In the above case, CNN reported it correctly this time, but many times they do not. Case in point here:
CNN Edits Police Shooting Victim’s Sister’s Call For Violence, Makes It a Call for Peace

Then there's the gray media.... Melania Trump Threatens Legal Action Over Reports She Was an Escort

I can go on... NYTimes reporting on Trump owing 650Millions:
    Trump Companies Owe $650 Million?

As Snopes states: But estimating Trump's true net worth is a near impossible task for outsiders, as he has repeatedly declined to disclose his tax returns or allow an independent valuation of his assets. The Times noted that Trump's campaign filings show his businesses owed at least $315 million and that those filings appeared to be accurate, so their report was not in itself evidence of wrongdoing since Trump is not required to disclose all of his business activities. But the Times observed that their investigation "underscored how much of Mr Trump’s business remains shrouded in mystery" and "found that Mr Trump’s fortunes depend deeply on a wide array of financial backers, including one he has cited in attacks during his campaign."

There are two types of propaganda in press. One that is aggressive and does not care whether it is called out... Mostly the gray media of Huffy Puffy, Motherjones, MSNBC, etc... This was the style of Soviet Union.

And the more dangerous type, the insipid, sprinkle of truth type of planting the seed. The father of that method was Goebbels. “The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over.”

I am not disagreeing with anybody about the inaccuracies of the press. Period.

Did Trump say it might be a good idea to have proliferation of nuclear weapons?

Did Trump say to use religion as a way to block immigration?

Did Trump actually say a woman who was questioning him was bleeding from other places?

Did Trump ask why we shouldn't use nukes?

Did Trump choose Pence as his running mate?

Did he say he would make Mexico pay for building a border wall?

Did he say to return all illegals from where they came from?

What I really want is an option to vote none of the above and then if enough people choose that none of the current candidates can run and we have to have an abbreviated nominating and election cycle.

Although I believe Clinton to be slimy beyond description I cannot imagine Trump on the world stage representing our country.

Oh, I do think Pence was chosen to help keep Trump alive. Nobody would assassinate him because it would make Pence president.

I don't disagree that Trump is crap. Really. He is. I think he was voted in more to the middle finger to the GOP than anything else. Now Hillary will win by a landslide.

My point is that the press used to the the fact checkers. Now it's being fact checked by non-profits.

Even an honest and fair-minded critic of Trump has to acknowledge the following:

Clear overt willful bias and editorial commentary is always inappropriate regardless of the target. In my lifetime the preceding state described has never been greater than regarding MSM reporting about Trump in what is specifically clearly supposed to be informative hard news stories as opposed to news commentary or editorial.

The print press is the worst although broadcast is pretty awful too. Virtually every MSM print article I read that talks about Trump inserts within what is supposed to be a straight strictly a news story including front page news story a plethora of condescending, sarcastic, commentary, mocking comments and hot-button insertion of adjectives that don't belong. It is literally overtly shocking and insulting. It is without merit and indefensible or excusable.

Then there is always the issue of the media spinning and twisting the news and the national narrative by choosing what to report and what not to report.

Those are the facts and they are indisputable.

The MSM is in the tank and they are in to a degree unprecedented during my lifetime.

I'm not so sure. Even with all the negativity surrounding Trump, this is Hillary's election to lose. And she's doing a pretty damned good job of doing so.

Never, in all my years of voting, (and even before I could vote) have I seen such a dismal representation of who NOT to choose for President.

Regardless of who is voted in, we're totally and thoroughly screwed.

And never have we been so powerless to do anything about it. Do we as average voting citizens really have a choice anymore? Government and the political machines it encompasses have spiraled so far beyond the intended structure established by the founding fathers. It's no longer a government for the people. I don't think anyone here will argue that.

But then how do we get it back? How do the people of this nation A) find and then B) successfully elect a candidate that will truly have the citizens' best interest at heart? The media and money have ruined that for us, thanks.

When I came here in 1968, I never thought I'd see the day when the USA became a socialist country. It doesn't take much common sense to see that this method isn't the utopia it might appear to be on the surface for some people. It comes with a price.
