I suppose we've become somewhat inured to these goings on, but to kill 3 little girls inside a church...reminiscent of some very disgusting things in this country not so many years ago.

Now, Ethics, why report just the truth, when you can slant it? Women *or* girls? You mean they don't have the resources to find out?

I'd have to say the biggest load of crap out of all western (serious) press has GOT to be Reuters.

It's almost a game for me to pick out the way they change the meaning of the story by exclusion, out of context and utilizing PC words.

Radical cleric held over church attack
    Staff and wires
Thursday, December 26, 2002 Posted: 4:13 AM EST (0913 GMT)
DASKA, Pakistan -- Pakistani police are questioning a radical Muslim
cleric and his son in connection with a Christmas Day church attack that
killed three girls and injured at least 14 others.
The Protestant church in Chianwala, near the town of Daska, about 70
kilometers (40 miles) northwest of Lahore was holding a special service
for women and children when a grenade was hurled through an open
    front door by two attackers.
The detained cleric, Mohammed Afzal, reportedly said "it is the duty of
every good Muslim to kill Christians," during a sermon at a mosque
three days prior to the attack, a local police officer, Nazir Yaqub, told
    The Associated Press news agency.
Police detained Afzal on Wednesday evening for making hateful
comments at the mosque, which is located near the location of the
grenade attack. His son Attaullah was taken into custody on Thursday
morning, Mohammed Riaz, a Daska police spokesman said.
Police believe Afzal, a local cleric at an Islamic religious school, is linked
to Jaish-e Mohammed, a radical Kashmiri militant group that has been
    banned by Pakistan's government.
"Afzal told people,'You should attack Christians and not even have food
until you have seen their dead bodies," Yaqub told AP.
Three girls -- aged 6, 11 and 15 -- were killed in the blast. Of the 14
injured, two were in serious condition at a Lahore hospital.
The attackers, who according to witnesses wore burqas, escaped after
the attack, an Interior Ministry spokesman, Iftikhar Ahmad, told AP. It
was not known whether the attackers were women, or men disguised
    as women.
Malik Iqbal, a deputy inspector general of Gujranwala police, said no one
had claimed responsibility for the attack on the one-room building. It
occurred around 8:30 p.m. local time at a service attended by a few
    dozen people.
Iqbal said that the church had not informed police of the service. If they
had, he said, security would have been tight. He said appropriate
security was provided at an earlier service.
There have been a number of other attacks against Christian institutions
in Pakistan in recent months in protest against Pakistan's support of the
    U.S. war on terrorism.
Christians, Hindus and other religions make up about three percent of
    Muslim-majority Pakistan's 140 million people.
-- Islamabad Bureau Chief Ash-har Quraishi, producer Syed Mohsin
Naqvi and The Associated Press contributed to this report

I wonder if Reuters or the BBC ran this story? If they did, the editorial decision must have been painful, as whether to chide Afzal for his intolerance or to chide Chistianity for being so insensitive and unthinking that they would actually put a Christian church in a muslim country.
