    Claire:

    i think you have the wrong URL here. It connected me with a story about a rocket that exploded or some such thing. I did not read it all so may hacve mischaracterized it a bit -- but it is not about a protein.

    This last sentence intrigued me:

    <i>Many problems of health could be treated(handled) by acting on the biological mechanism of the human clock. However, the researchers should again study this protein more in the detail, what its permanent movement makes difficult. </i>

    But I don't have a background in genetics or biochemistry so I don't have an intuitive feel for what health problems this research can help treat.

    My undergrad was genetics but it was the beginning back then. Most of my study was on the overall age of the body and how the genetics plays a role in that--excluding the bumps we call diseases these days.
