OK, this is not a new issue and has been discussed before in other forums. But, it has raised its head again here with regards to the Cricket World Cup being held in South Africa and Zimbabwe next year.
The Brits have threatened to boycott the event, which is one way of avoiding a hiding, while the OZ team management say its not their role to make ploitical statements. Maybe not but surely attendance is tacit support for the Zimbabwean political situation given that boycotts have been discussed. More on the story here. .

South Africa was boycotted during some of the Aparthied years with no cricket or rugby teams touring there or being allowed to tour to boycotting countrys. Would you support a US or Canadian soccer or basketball team to play there given the political climate?

Well oppression is oppression, isn't it? No matter who it is targeted at?
