    Hill Street Blues was such a radical departure from TV fare of that time, and a welcome one. And BDD, when you talk about the accuracy of the show, I hope that you're excluding Mick Belker's biting. :D

    I've been rewatching the series on H&I Channel and learned of his passing yesterday during an episode of Hill Street when they did one of those remembrance card cut-ins before a commercial.

    It's a shame it didn't get another season back then.

    I never saw any of his programs, but have watched many others that probably owe their style to his groundbreaking methods.

    What Brian said. That show transformed and changed TV as we know it... And I am happy for it. RIP.
