Nearby Washington State has legalized recreational marijuana since they voted for it in 2012. I wasn't happy about it!

There are numerous studies regarding vaping. It's a fact that vaping is 95% safer than smoking. It's all about harm reduction.

There are even studies that are beginning to show that nicotine may have an impact on reducing the risk of Alzheimers.

That is good to know that vaping is 95% safer than smoking...

Did you know that not vaping is 100% safer than smoking? Yes sir, nobody has ever suffered the slightest ill effects from not vaping!

Vaping is also causing damage to the aveoli in the lungs. The effect is "popcorn" something and I don't have the time to look right now.

There are absolutely no cases where "popcorn lung" has been attributed to vaping. The FUD came about from an individual that worked at a factory that makes microwave popcorn who was diagnosed with the disease. Some jackwagon saw that the ingredient used in creating the butter flavor in popcorn was also used in small range of e-liquids.

This is the kind of misinformation that pisses me off. Again, there have been absolutely no cases where popcorn lung has been attributed to vaping. None. Nada. Zilch.

I discussed this very topic with my doctor (an specialist in internal medicine) just TWO weeks ago, and he specifically stated that vaping does not harm the cilia in our lungs and trachea that create a waving motion causing foreign material to be transported upwards and expelled in the phlegm that we spit out or swallow.

Mark, Biker is right and I don't know where you got this mistaken information.

Aren't I allowed to be wrong ONCE in a while? ;-) It was a half-remembered bit of memory on a scanned article some months back. Sorry.

Aveoli are the nodules in our lungs where the O2/CO2 exchange takes place between air and blood. The Celia are hairs in the bronchial airways that lead to the aveoli. Two different parts of your lungs.

    There ya go! :)

By the way I shouldn't have commented on the popcorn thingie. To be honest I never heard of it. They didn't teach popcorn in my med classes. We did kidneys and spleens and lungs and all that yummy stuff. How's your corpus callosum today? ;)

Did you know that Einstein's brain post mortem showed that his was HUGE!!! That is the part of the brain that communicates between the hemispheres. His left and right brain were astonishingly networked together, which partly explains his huge intelligence.

Horrible. The left side of my brain got tired of the right side's nonsensical ramblings and beat it to death with a crowbar.

Actually Mark the wrong side of your brain won. Your left brain is connected to your dextrous right hand and said part of brain in most people holds their analytic brain, the cold calculating side. In most people it's the left brain that is creative and intuitive, and to a degree (not strongly but IMO ) where our social skills reside. (It's an assertion, I can't prove the family part from authoritative papers) but if so you just whacked out your humanity and left the robo-person in charge.

You should understand that your left/analytic brain does not understand the right/intuitive brain. Yet you are half a person if you don't use both sections.

I'm left-handed, and when I was a kid getting diagnosed with ADHD, who said I'm wired with the left side of my brain controlling the left side of the body and the right side controls the right side of the body.

Mark, that is physiologically impossible. The left side of your brain controls the right side of your body, and vice versa. Haven't you ever heard of a left brain stroke paralyzing the right side of the body (or vice versa)?

My parents were told this in the 60's when they were still "working out the particulars" about ADD/ADHD. Years later when I was in high school, some serendipitous research led me to the fact that my daily dose of Ritalin was just shy of the trigger level to induce hallucinations, ala LSD. Of course, the shrinks didn't know this until after I was on it for a couple of years...

Taking any drugs cannot rewire your basic neurological patterns. You are stuck with whatever you were born with.
