PornHub going mainstream?

As part of the backlash against guns, YouTube and Reddit (among other sites, I'm sure) have started getting aggressive about what gun-related content they'll allow. YouTube has banned all sorts of gun videos and is demonetizing gun channels left and right.

Some channels have already started pulling their content and moving it to sites like Free30 and so forth, but no one really has the server and bandwidth capacity to compete against YouTube. Well, no mainstream site, anyway.

Someone posted in /r/CrazyIdeas that "PornHub should create a second website, TheHub, for all nonporn material and become a YouTube competitor."

Reddit user Katie_Pornhub, who is the "Sr. Community Manager for YouPorn & Pornhub" replied to the thread, saying "We've joked about doing something like this in the past but now it's becoming more and more realistic and not so crazy. We'll see!"

I would love to see that happen and work.

Monopolies, either governmental or private, are bad. Competition is always good.

If "TheHub" were to monetize channels (like YouTube just stopped doing for Conservative content) or even just not restrict what YouTube has been restricting, YT would be "the other MySpace" in a couple of years.
