The Russian Orthodox Church is now teaching a voluntary course in the Public Schools of many Russian Cities, like Nogrinsk, and the trend is expanding.

    Coriolis Bob's your uncle

This started a while back, but I'm not able to find much about it on the net (not surprisingly, I guess).

    From one site:
    http://www.samford.edu/groups/global/ewcmreport/articles/ew08301.html

<i>As one teacher lamented, It is very hard to live without believing in anything. Still another shared, It is hard to find something to believe in. All the Communist principles failed. Now people need something to believe in. </i>

    Interesting.

    From another site:
    http://www.ripnet.org/strategies/citygates/backatschool.htm

<i>The result of close cooperation between the public school system and the Russian Orthodox Church will hardly measure up to the ideal that each side has in mind. Introducing a Christian bias in schools will, if anything, lead to a growing number of confirmed atheists.</i>

    Ah, now there's the rub!
