[NFL] Bet GA bucks on the games - Week 3

The way it works -

Betting for teams: You're betting straight up against the line. The line is stated as the favored team having negative points. In other words, if you want to bet for a team stated as "Buffalo (+3) at Miami (-3)", then Miami is favored by three points and you must beat the spread in order to collect. If you lose, you have to pay the house the number of points you bet (ethics is the house). If you bet for the underdog, you get the advantage of the points, in this instance you get spotted 3 points if you bet for Buffalo.

Betting the Over / Under Line: What you're betting on here is how many points both teams will score. Oddsmakers have placed the over/under line, and if you think both teams will score over that number, then you bet over. Example - The Over / Under line for Houston at Dallas might be 36 points. If you think they both stink and you don't think the combined score will reach that, then you might bet your GA points/dollars *under* the O/U line.

All bets must be placed by 11AM CST on game day. That's typically one hour before kickoff.

All ties are a wash. If the over / under line is 40 and both teams score 40, you win nothing and lose nothing. If you pick a team and they match the spread but don't beat it, you win nothing and lose nothing.

You can make any bet on any team, but your total weekly bet may not exceed your current GA points/dollar total. There is no limit on the amount of GA dollars you bet on any game beyond what your current GA dollars are.

***Note - The Global Affairs dollars have no cash or redemption value. This is a "for fun" type of betting, and you are rewarded with GA points or GA dollars only, which can be redeemed for neat stuff at the Global Affairs Thumbs Up Store.***

Copzilla,

Is it ok to bet potential winnings on the second game this Sunday as long as the bet is posted before game time?

I mean let's pretend I win my bet on the Eagles. I would very much like to wager a portion of those winnings on the second game.

Problem with this is that a lot of times the games start before the other one has even ended. I know that the outcome is usually fairly predictable by the fourth quarter, but I really wanted to avoid clock-watching as part of this fun and games.

See, we're gonna keep doing this as part of upcoming sporting events as well, Superbowl, Pro Bowl, NBA playoffs, even the Masters if the odds are posted (okay, everyone pick Tiger)... Whatever odds are posted, I'll go with them and post the line, so there's no need to get in too big of a hurry to get rich.

OK, this is complicated. If any of these bets are wrong let me know.

$6 on Tampa Bay to win and cover
$21 dollars on Tennessee to win and cover

$1 on the Tampa Bay/Phili game - over
$2 on the Tennessee/Raiders game - under

Not much action on this week's games it appears :(

Copzilla, I've made a pittance on a few quizzes I took so please up my bet to 1,750 GA bucks on the Eagles.

Andy Reid and Hugh Douglas stopped over last night to watch some ESPN with me and assured me they will cover the line Sunday. Man that Andy can knock off some buffalo wings....

GO EAGLES !!!!

Yeah, kind of slow this week. Wassup with Steve? Where ya at, buddy?

All new bets have been posted now. Jedi, Martissimo, Wapu, Midranger, all bets and changes have been posted. Thank you!

---

New change -

I am now your bookie. All losses go to me, and I'll deal out cash winnings. I have the Internation Bank of Ethics backing me, so all bets will be covered. I wash all of it at the end of the week, so I don't keep your losses, they are returned to the bank.

Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Void where prohibited by law. Brush and floss regularly. Lather, rinse, repeat.
