A bit of science fiction coming true?
Btw, for those not familiar with the technology: how nuclear spacecraft work Links to other articles and related info are also available.

"NASA's 2004 budget request, officially embargoed until U.S. President George W. Bush presents his spending plan to Congress in February, contains significantly increased funding for a revamped nuclear propulsion research effort the U.S. space agency is now calling Project Prometheus... Announced early last year, NASA has been seeking funds to establish the Nuclear Space Initiative. The program would develop new types of radioisotope thermoelectric generators (RTGs), as well as perform research on nuclear propulsion. That technology would not only support robotic exploration of the Solar System. NSI research could open the door for more rapid human access to targets beyond low Earth orbit, should the nation decide to pursue such a long distance goal."

This proposal, of course, is just an attempt by the imperialist Americans to develop a nuclear arsenal. That's why Saddam Hussein and Dear Leader Kim have denounced the US as a rogue state.
