Although it's been a long time coming, Firefox 52 finally kills all NPAPI support with the exception of Flash. It's a pity they just didn't kill it all.

However, there's another "kill" with this release that went unnoticed until Linux users discovered the lack of sound on most sites. Seems Mozilla killed ALSA support as well in favor of Pulse Audio. Needless to say, there are many who are not happy (myself included) with this change.

1345661 - PulseAudio requirement breaks Firefox on ALSA-only systems

    Dumb. Really dumb.
