Men/Women Only Forums

Been on the fence on this forever since it was first put in motion and I finally realized it might be time to experiment with this idea.

    Here's the proposal:

    1. Two separate forums, one for men and one for women.

    2. Each forum will be administered by its specific gender (Domhain/BDD for men, Violet for women). NO ADMIN WILL HAVE access to women's forum, not even myself. Yes, I can flip the switch and make myself gain entry but it would go against everything I stand for and I am very principled this way. Besides, I want each forum to feel as they are isolated from the opposite gender.

    3. They are to be R rated and would have to have 17+ age limit

    4. Same rules as for the Gin Joint regarding porn/no porn.

    Sure, sounds good.

    Except for this:
Damn, I am to young for this still. (You believe me, right?)

Could be fun, but I'm not sure I see the necessity?

Anyway, I'm sure I'll partake in whatever is decided. But could we make it NC-17 rated instead....could be much more fun! :)

I'm not sure I understand the need for this. I don't get a general impression that the guys or gals are holding back in the Gin Joint due to the presence of the other gender (though I'm sure somone could and will prove me wrong, should such forums be created! ;))

May I ask why anyone feels this is necessary? I mean personally if i'm not interested in your boy talk I can just go somewhere else. On the flip side I have no problems discussing women's issues with the men as well. For one thing having a member of the "opposing team" helps keep it real.

just askin... i don't like exclusive clubs. I think it's a bad idea and invites separatism

GJ will remain for all of your past and present viewing pleasures.

I've had a slew of PM's regarding that GJ has become a place where people do NOT want to share because the opposing gender may view it offensive. The idea was first proposed by a woman, if that helps.

These new forums will be by invite only and if you do not want to participate or even have access there, you may wave that right.

I just asked... i don't care much. It's not my choice, but i go with the majority. If I want private, I have pm's

Personally I don't think you boys need one more area where we aren't allowed... but that's just me.

Yah, I wasn't aware there were other places women aren't allowed?

Where is this 'other' area where women are not welcome?

We are talking about this forum, not the world at large.

So, there is a 'mindset' or way of thinking, a paradigm... and it is one that is exclusive to men? No girls allowed?

I think thats called 'human with brain and penis' and it is neither better than or worse than 'human with brain and vagina'.

Youve lost me totally here Fio. I smell some sort of feminist objection to the idea of there being a 'insert sex here'-only forum, and for the life of me... I cant validate such an objection with any logic or reason whatsoever.

    I could be missing something.

I have no problem with the idea of men/women only forums. Sounds like fun. Its not like the existence of such a thing is going to result in the deforestation or Brazil or something. So what. Make the forum. Lets see what happens.

    Are there any REASONABLE objections?

Good lord everyone calm the hell down. She was asked for her input and gave it. Get over it. Next!

Yes, that rather depends on your definition of 'input' doesnt it?

Do you have input to offer other than 'get over it' and 'next!'? I appreciate those sentiments, but they dont offer anything whatsoever to the discussion.

Neither did the pile up over her admission.

Now, my input would be, I like the idea, like to give it a try.

No one's gonna die in the process, so let's give it a go.

I realize I am only one of 3 gay men here, so my opinion means diddly. However, looking at parts and pieces of a women in compromising positions, and speaking about women in a vulgar way is not really what I ever thought the Gin Joint would be about. I'd have no issue with it, I guess. But who I am going to share the hairy leg stories with, if not the women who can openly see what I am posting? Seriously, isn't not a better thing to have all of discuss things like we always have? I probably won't be invited to it anyway. You guys have fun.

BT since you're a male, what you would get of the male forum might not be erotically pleasing...but would allow you to share your views in men's issues. These forums don't have to be all about nudity if you don't make them that way as the members of it.

We can't look at this as a division thing, but rather as a place to go and feel comfortable with talking openly, no matter how offensive it might have sounded to the other sex. A place to be open and learn too. Not a place of restrictions. Life isn't always about restrictions. You know...there's men and women's locker rooms and bathrooms for a reason. Men and woman specialty doctors, sciences too. Some things are best shared only amongst the same sex. I don't see it as a restriction issue.

I'm with Sharon...we can try it and see how it goes.

Hell, I'd invite you, why the hell wouldn't I? You are a man, right? Until (if ever) you have a sex change, then let us know and we will swap your access. ;) Besides, GJ is not leaving and it's still Co-Ed.

I will not shave the mustache nor the goatee, so I'd be a really ugly woman.
