Lazy web developers

In today's day and age, there's no excuse for it. None. Nada. Zip. Yet time and time again, we see web sites that are coded with a specific browser or OS in mind with no thought to the countless others who don't fall into that narrow vision.

Take, for example, CTV News in Canada. If you're using anything other than Windows, their videos won't work as they check for the latest version for Windows only. Doesn't matter that you're up to date using another OS (such as Linux). their lazy developers only check for the one version only. And if you send them an email, the lame excuse of "we don't support Linux" is provided.

Seriously? You're going to brush off a legitimate complaint about lazy coding with that lame excuse? Gotta wonder where companies are getting their help these days. And to excuse behavior like this goes beyond the pale. If they're that lazy on basic website coding, what else are they taking short cuts on?
