Both are now available, but now 2.0 software yet.
500 apps, 25% of which are free, will be abailable at launch.
Sweet. Any pr0n?
LOL....not sure, but somehow I doubt that Jobs will be included pRon on the iTunes site. I haven't had time to upgrade iTunes yet this morning so I'm just going by reports.
Ooookay... where the hell IS it?
Ya, they have it a bit hidden right now. Once you are in iTunes 7.7, just type in AOL in the search. That should find you the AIM app, which you then select. Once that screen comes up, you should be apple to see the App Store directory listed and back up to it.
So, the App Store is there, but Apple hasn't made it front and center yet.
Some nice stuff in there.
I brought my USB cable to work and will be tapping the UPGRADE button every 30 seconds.
LMAO....you and me both, but I'm sure it would be available until tomorrow AM.
iTunes 7.7 available.
Do not try and update from the app though. Doesn't seem to work.
Downloading and installing now.
Ya, you have to direct download 7.7.
BTW....these guys are reporting that you can direct download 2.0 as well!!
Doing both now. Will report.
Hold SHIFT ALT while hitting update button to browse to the ipsw file.
Cool! I won't be back in the office for a few hours so hopefully I'll return to see you successfully install 2.0!
I am already connected via exchange SSL to work email. Took me 10 seconds.
This fucking ROCKS IT.
EDIT - cannot install apps "at this time" from itunes store of app store it seems... ha!
Contacts link on home screen
Password entry shows last char entered... less mistakes, brilliant
Much more... very nice update.
And my Apple guy just told me that the App store WILL have ereader--direct from fictionwise--allowing me to buy books directly on the iPhone, everything!
This is great news, and means that I will definitely upgrade right away.
Just browsing through--there are some amazing apps in there.
There are books galore, classics, for 99 cents in the appstore.
Well, that's a bit of a ripoff to charge 99 cents for books that are in the public domain and available for free at gutenberg.org . Sure, charge for bestsellers and contemporary books, I'm happy to pay for that.
"...and are successfully downloading and running App Store apps."
That is something I can NOT do yet.
Awesome!!! I should be updating in the next hour or so!!!!
Just an FYI. iTunes 7.7 will now show as an update in iTunes 7.6. It doesn't look like you have to direct download that anymore.
