Permethrin works wonders. It is available in cans as a 0.5 % spray for clothes/tents. However, it is cheaper to buy a concentrate and then dilute it. Here is the 36.8 concentrate I buy:

My father in law put the concentrate in a sprayer and sprayed our entire campsite with it last year. He said that he could literally see the ticks running away from it. Prior to campsite being sprayed, everybody found several ticks a day on themselves. After spray, no ticks for anybody. Amazing stuff. It should not be used around cats or fish.

Ugh! We have them here but there isn't much lyme disease so far. We treat our dogs because they carry the critters into the house otherwise. Nothing is worse than waking up in the middle of the night with a tick crawling up your back!

I saw that this morning. I flush mine down the toilet.

    Flush what? Your ticks?

Ha, ha, yes the ticks. Our lawnmower has been in for repairs for 10 days or so. The route I like to walk on our land is turning into a jungle infested with ticks.
