[LINUX] Changing Distros

    SUSE will be a dog on anything less than a top of the line system.

    Back up /home. All your configuration files that are located there will do you no good when switching to Mint. Copy your data over once it's installed.

    For Mint updates, you can then keep /home with minimal breakage. But telling the installer to leave home alone when installing a new distro is just asking for all sorts of issues when things get written. Especially if there are old configuration files that could also work in Mint. Asking for more headaches than it's worth.
