After many years as the head of the Catholic Church in Boston, Cardinal Bernard Law resigned as archbishop and asks for forgiveness.

    The story is here.

Something tells me this is just the start.

Too late for forgiveness and he should have resigned a long time ago.

The pope and the church can forgive him. Mere mortals may have a tougher time understaning the need to place the welfare of pedophile priests ahead of that of the children taught to respect and emulate them.

    Steve Is that it, then?

And so the Pope appoints his long-time assistant to replace him....like the assistant didn't know what was going on, too.

Yeah, and while he's no longer archbishop, he's still a cardinal and prince of the church.

Until he is behind bars. I can forgive anyone who is repentent. He should step down altogether and find some good honest charitable work to occupy his time until he starts doing laundry and making license plates.
