    I guess I've stalled long enough with applying windows updates :)

    I was hesitant with SP1 because of the GIF issue I kept reading about but found a fix that worked for me by changing an IE setting as illustrated in the attached screenshot.

    Everything else went smooth as silk and I like the new Media Player :)

    I finally bit the bullet last weekend and installed SP1. I am holding off on any further updates until I know this is not going to hose Windows.

    One tiny suggestion, Mid ... lower your TIF cache to 10 or 20mb. With a broadband connection and having IE check for newer versions on every visit, you don't need that much space. It takes more time for IE to check through and compare files with that large of a cache. It's also a good idea to have IE empty the TIF folder when the browser is closed. That setting is under the Advanced tab, down in the Security section.

    Would have recommended the same advice.
