    Do you ever wonder why people like him live into advanced old age? I've seen this happen frequently. Did the period of living dangerously in their youth, followed later with an enormous sense of mission accomplished, have anything to do with it? I love reading the obituaries of such people.

    Arsène Tchakarian, the last surviving member of the Armenian-led Manouchian network, which fought alongside the French resistance against the Nazi occupiers during World War II, died Aug. 4 at a hospital in Villejuif, south of Paris. He was 101.
