In the year (or years) before 9/11, everyone was talking about the upcoming confrontation with China. And that incident with the US plane colliding with the Chinese one generated a lot of controversy, from both sides of the emerging Cold War. Then 9/11 happened. Now, that plane-collision incident is just a long memory away, and China is seen as an ally in the war against terrorism. So, if the world did not have a war against terrorism, it might have an emerging new Cold War, where China is seen as the upstart challenger. Certainly, its economy is seen that way. http://money.cnn.com/2003/01/29/news/economy/china/index.htm Does this mean, then, that there's something in human nature that will constantly lead us to war? What do you think?
