This is a pretty big indictment of big government, big labor, and even of current political spending policy. It shouldn't have gone to a recall anyway. Recall should be saved for misconduct, not political irritability.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/06/us/politics/walker-survives-wisconsin-recall-effort.html

WAUKESHA, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker, whose decision to cut collective bargaining rights for most public workers set off a firestorm in a state usually known for its political civility, held on to his job on Tuesday, becoming the first governor in the country to survive a recall election and dealing a painful blow to Democrats and labor unions.

Mr. Walker soundly defeated Mayor Tom Barrett of Milwaukee, the Democrats’ nominee in the recall attempt, with most precincts across the state reporting results. The victory by Mr. Walker, a Republican who was forced into an election to save his job less than two years into his first term, ensures that Republicans largely retain control of this state’s capital, and his fast-rising political profile is likely to soar still higher among conservatives.

Yeah, he's pretty much a rock star at this particular point. Thanks Dems, you made a stink and you came out of it... well... stinking.

Came here to post comments on this but you beat me to it. All I will say is that this is much bigger than people can imagine. This doesn't change everything but it does change alot.

When NYT is reporting it plainly like that, stating it's a big blow to Democrats and unions, well... It's just huge.

I think November is going to be very interesting. Perhaps we should start removing sharp objects from our Liberal friends now.

The win was all most guaranteed and predictable by Obama's and the WH by the absence of their involvment. Their internal polls showed the outcome was all but guaranteed weeks ago and Obama wasn't about to be associated with a losing horse--Barrett. Hence no trip to Wisconsin for the president.

It would be a mistake for now to attribute what happen in Wisconsin as being bigger than Wisconsin and what was being contested there. It may in fact turn out to be that nationally or on a macro scale but to assume it is would be a poor assumation or evaluation at this point. For now I would just view it on the micro level. One state with a unique combination of factors. There is however no doubt that it is a hot ember for a national fire.

I saw on Twitter where Ed Schultz refused to believe that Walker won, despite his network having called it already. Talk about a delusional individual.

It really is, for more than one reason. First, Walker's campaign received a lot of money from out of state, meaning that this is not just a Wisconsin issue. The entire nation was watching. Even as the liberals will try to downplay it now that they lost, before the election they were celebrating how huge it was to recall Walker, when they thought they were going to win. They were right the first time. It IS huge.

Secondly, it's a blueprint on how to bust public sector unions that are given such gravy deals in exchange for votes by liberal spend-happy politicians. It's how to bring them back to reality. It's not about the middle class. I am middle class, and I don't have benefits anywhere close to what those teachers had. I've never had that. It's about reality check, and budgets that are on the brink.

Third, it's about the emergence of Walker and power of the Tea Party candidates. Tea Party is NOT over. There are a lot of mad taxpayers out there still.

Ed is the worse of the shills on MSNBC the network where there is nothing but shills in primetime. The others are shills but are despite that and also despite being ideologes they are intelligent and O'Donnell and Maddow are articulate. Ed's a buffoon and a media network whore. Used to be a conservative. Did you know that? But then commercially it was to his career benefit to become the left-wing shill for the extreme lunatic for far-left at MSBC and you have the Ed of today.

When I tuned into the MSNBC and it was clear that Walker had won they were barely acknowledging it and treating it like it was the election for the dogcatcher of Lubbock. Uh, somewhat different than what they have been saying leading up to the showdown today. You would thought it was one of the most important issues in the nation today then. Starting tomorrow they will start to spin it and misdirect it and somehow make it sound like the results per the analytical bull shit a result that in the big picture is or was actually a good thing overall. (And pigs can fly.)

Huge night here in Wisconsin and a major loss for the temper tantrum throwing whiners.

Elections do have consequences and exit polling indicated that 60% didn't believe a recall was even warranted.

All the bad behavior (death threats, trashing the capital, etc) really put people off and backfired. Some woman even slapped Barrett after he conceded. WTF?

    I'll post more later. :)

Ha! I saw that on the news this morning. That's what the talking heads said - she was upset because she thought he conceded too early. A supporter!

I suspect we'll see more behavior like that as November gets closer. If they can't win the argument with flawed logic, go mental and trash everything. Any bets that there'll be riots in many cities if Romney wins in November?

Ah yes...that sweet smell of victory...

The heads were exploding all over the capitol square last night, and today is no exception. The finger-pointing and blame game started immediately, and it continues unabated.

    Tee-hee

    ;)

    Stay safe,

The bullshit that's emanating from the various liberal sources is getting rather nauseating. Give them a couple more days and they'll have themselves convinced it was all a bad dream and nothing happened.

Good grief! Can the twitchy.com posts (complete with photo of the poster) be used by the police? Is it okay to make death threats like that over and over?

Milwaukee PD and the State Department of Justice are investigating. I'm sure none of the threats are real, just idiots being idiots.

Hopefully it won't be treated as such. It's time that users of social media realize that there are consequences for their actions, including making threats on line.
