As the guy says on the website, it will be interesting to see how TOR does when monthly subscriptions are up for renewal the second time around.
There are a LOT of pissed off folks when it comes to TOR. They still can't get the video drivers to work properly, and their customer service is absolutely dismal. MoP is due to go beta soon, so expect those Blizz numbers to climb again for this quarter.
Wow, Warhammer entered, flashed and died. THAT is easy to diagnose - great marketing, terrible development and management.
Or no end game. Take a look at Rift. Awesome concept, loved the game play but there was nothing to do once you hit 60.
Apparently Aion is going F2P. Pyrion mentioned over in DSLR that the grind to level up has largely been removed.
Goes F2P in Europe on the 28th and rumor has it F2P for North America will be in April. Awesome graphics. So so game play from those I've talked to about it.
Their sub numbers are impressive, and apparently it's the #1 game in Korea (the Korea with food and freedom, not the other one). Hopefully Pyrion or somebody else with direct experience will jump in.
Interesting Graph Also Guild Wars 2 is going into Beta, you might still be able to sign up. Can't wait for Aion to go F2P. When I tried it at Pax a couple of years ago it played a lot like Guild Wars. And it was beautiful.
