Just some "tidbits" about the new software. 1. Quick Reply.. It's still there. Just click on the reply box where you'd type the text in. No need to click on the reply button under a post (which is reply with quote). If you do select the "quote" option, delete it out unless it's absolutely necessary to leave it in there. 2. Profiles. You can modify the bejeebers out of 'em now. Background images, text colors, etc. 3. Go to Top. Still trying to get a handle on how things are coded so I can get that added back into the forum. Sorry Lynne. Gonna take me a bit longer to get that put back in. 4. I'll load the tapatalk module so the Blackberries can access. Will most likely do that tonight. Not sure why they're having issues accessing, unless it's a java thing. 5. Themes/Styles. Knock yourself out in trying them, then respond to the poll started elsewhere. Once we get a good feel for what the majority wish to have, we'll look for a top notch professionally designed theme. 6. I may install an arcade system later this week. 7. As far as goodies are concerned, there aren't that many that have been created as yet for the software. Forum Opt Out is in the works, just have to wait for the author to update it for the version we're using. We lucked out in that the site was updated on the very day the latest version of IPB was released. 8. Search. Seems a bit borked to me, so I'll be installing something at the server level tonight to fix this. The new routines will speed up searching exponentially. 9. At some point in the very near future, I'll also be installing a new content management system on the site. I'm leaning towards Wordpress, which also means I can set things up for blogs. More on that later. If there's something you haven't figured out how to do, sing out.
Twitter and Facebook connect is now active. You should now be able to link your facebook and twitter accounts with your account here. Share links for threads are located at the bottom of each thread in the "Main" forums. Forums which are restricted from Guest viewing will not have those share links. You can link your accounts by going to your Profile settings and setting up Twitter and Facebook connect from there.
That was a little strange. I ran a search on "Toyota" and first got no results. Next ran one on "Toyoda," and got one hit. Ran my first search again, and got boocoo hits. Weird. Does seem faster and a bit more effective now though. ETA: I just ran one on "Ravensbeak," and had the same thing happen. First search had no results; second had what looked like an appropriate number.
I just put it in the other test styles. What a pain... Folks, you're gonna get one style, so you better decide what type of color combinations you want. :haha:
Also looking into putting the "Today's Active Content" link next to View New Content as well. There is one, but it's at the bottom of the forum listing.
