The vote breakdown was 58 to 42 percent. North Carolina voters have approved a constitutional amendment defining marriage solely as a union between a man and a woman, making it the 30th U.S. state to adopt such a ban. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...endment-banning-gay-marriage/?test=latestnews Not one of the twenty-eight (28) states that have an electorate vote on this issue has favored same-sex marriage. This includes some of the most liberal states in the US such as Oregon and California. (Twice in California.) In all of the 28 states the important thing to put in perspective is the electorate is diverse. It includes women, men, young, old, atheists, secularists, religious, gays, straights, Whites, Blacks, Latinos, and other ethnic or racial representation and just about every other classification one could name. The media and pundits fail to mention the above. Instead special interests as reported by the MSM try to blame the results on conservatives, religious, bigots or the such.
And yet we have this story from Reuters: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/05/08/us-usa-gaymarriage-poll-idUSBRE8471DW20120508 I'm really disappointed in the outcome, but not at all surprised.
I rarely get involved with this topic because it never gets resolved. The MSM is wrong. I have gay and lesbian relatives, and so does my husband. They are people, first and foremost. It's funny how groups of people tend to be stereotyped. They're all supposed to be one thing or another--no middle ground at all.
That could also be that half of all Americans are too dumb to realize that voting in a Reuters poll is not the same as voting at the ballot.
