Even though Google has stated it's not possible, it appears that if you want to get into your buddy's device that is secured by Face Unlock, just show it a picture of the owner. Bascially, Face Unlock should be treated as a "low security" method of securing your device. If you have sensitive information on the device, use a better security method such as a pin or pattern swipe.
