Bartz blasts Yahoo's board

As the article states, guess she won't be listing Yahoo on her resume! :lol:

Bartz, who was canned from her CEO position with the internet company Tuesday, rang up Fortune Wednesday to vent about her overlords, letting the company's board have it with both barrels.

"These people f---ed me over," Bartz seethed.

The former exec held particular rancor for Yahoo's chairman of the board, Ray Bostock, who indecorously fired her over the phone.

Don't suppose this was a harmonious relationship to begin with, huh?

But revving up Yahoo's growth and share price proved more difficult. To boost growth, Ms. Bartz in 2009 decided Yahoo would no longer invest in search-engine technology and compete against Google Inc. Instead, she signed a 10-year deal with Microsoft Corp., letting Microsoft's Bing search engine power the search feature on Yahoo sites in exchange for ad revenue.That decision hasn't yet paid off. Ms. Bartz and fellow Yahoo directors recently discussed whether she was unrealistic about the deal, people familiar with the matter said. In the 12 months ended in June, Yahoo generated $1.54 billion in net revenue from search ads, down from $1.8 billion in the previous 12-month period.

Ms. Bartz made other mistakes—some very publicly. During her first year at Yahoo, fellow directors spent time discouraging what they saw as Ms. Bartz's abrasive CEO style, including her frequent use of swear words, said people familiar with the matter.
Pressure mounted in 2010 amid flat revenue, high-level executive departures, and media speculation that other firms were plotting takeover bids. In September 2010, Ms. Bartz broke down in tears during a reception at a women's technology conference in Atlanta, after citing recent "changes" she was going through at Yahoo, people familiar with the matter said.

Two sides to every story but to be honest, they are both meant for each other. She misread the entire internet and where it was going and Yahoo misread her as the proper person to guide Yahoo in to the right direction.

On the other hand, they just hit a grand slam home run with their ability to snag Marissa Mayer away from Google.
