The rest of the story: http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/0...den-but-may-get-reprieve-from-legal-loophole/ Of course we all know that any regular or average person under the Swedish charges he faces would be given the same latitude and consideration that have been given Assange, both initially in Sweden and subsequently in England. Personally, I would have no objections to some entity applying rule 303 to Mr. Assange.
Now he's in the embassy for Ecuador seeking asylum. http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/19/world/europe/ecuador-assange-asylum/index.html?eref=mrss_igoogle_cnn What a fucking prick.
Some day somewhere rule 303 or a local equivalent will catch up with him. In the meantime he likely will be in a jam if the Ecuadorians don't grant him asylum. Currently, they are considering whether or not to do so. Meanwhile this is a black eye for the Brits. Assange was supposed to be under their legal custodianship and was supposedly under house arrest pending his extradition to Sweden. Letting him slip from their fingers to potentially getting out of Dodge and making the British authorities look bad isn't going to win him any government friends there.
