We've once again killed another "number 2" guy in AQ. How many number two guys have we killed or captured now over the years? I wonder how many people think that this has a significant long-range impact on AQ? Or does it?

I wonder too who exactly sorts through the body parts, if any, of all these people we have killed by drone strikes to determine their IDs and how they do it--especially those killed "in country" so to speak. We can trust the locals to help can't we? (Like the Afghans or the Pakistanis.)

Makes no difference. Their hierarchy is totally different than a conventional group, tribe, or guild.

I wonder how I communicate to the powers that be that my wife just accepted the deputy position in AQ?

AQ has been primarily a franchise operation for the past 10 years--and even with some rogue operations. What is the equivalent of corporate Headquarters has pretty much all ways been in Yemen but increasing in sizen and influence there in the past five years. UBL prior to his death had only been pretty much a figurehead or leader emeritus since 2002 or 2003.
