Surprised I haven't posted anything about these delightful folks. Prenda Law Inc. has joined the ranks of copyright trolls. And in true copyright troll fashion, they send out demands for payment for copyrights they have no rights over, nor have the copyright owners hired them to pursue copyright infractions. In short, they're another bottom feeder trying to make a buck off folks who don't know any better. In this case, they're going after folks who download porn. A few have fought back, and the courts are reaming them a new one in the process. In the latest attempt to delay the inevitable, Prenda Law has filed a subpoenaed WordPress to release every single IP address that has visited http://dietrolldie.com and http://fightcopyrighttrolls.com/ since January 1, 2011. The latest word is WordPress is not going to release the information, and Prenda Law has a date with the judge on the 11th of this month to explain a few things. In fact, the judge has ordered the major decision makers of the firm to appear on the 11th. Should be a good time had by all but those from Prenda Law. Read up on these cretins on both dietrolldie and fightcopyrighttrolls. The tactics they're using are mind boggling to say the least.
I was over at that other site tonight doing some research and saw an article about Prenda Law, a Chicago-based copyright trolling firm. Seems they couldn't be bothered to attend a hearing last month in a US District Court, and the judge wasn't happy.
