Nice! I just looked it up on Google Earth. It appears that Bear Mountain is due north of NYC.

It looks like a good ride. How many miles is that?

It was a blast. Love those short runs where you get up at 7, take a shower, have good breakfast, get the bike, check the tires --everything else... Plug in your earplugs or my headphones and go meet up with the rest. Meet, bs, stretch out, and off you go. :)

Weather was gorgeous for riding too. Spoke to a few hikers when we got there, even the Ranger and a State Trooper. People love bikers. :)

That whole region up there is a blast on a bike. When I met my now husband, he was living just past New City on the Palisades Interstate, and he took me for some beautiful rides up there on his bike, every which way. It's fun to explore up there in the lake areas too. When I was a teen, the same trip was even fun in a car. Get some friends together, get in the car and go north and hang out in the beautiful nature up that way. One of the best things about living in that area, is that that area up there is so close, for just a little short getaway to get some fresh air and nature. Harriman always rocked. Great area and tons to see and do. You just have to explore a little. I gotta ask my husband where we used to get off for the one road he called "the raceway". OMG that's a sick road on a bike. I wouldn't advise anyone to do it how we did it. Back then, we kinda both didn't give a crap and were just having fun. Sick winding road. Would be fun even at a slow pace I would say. I envy you Leon. Thanks for sharing this with us. I personally love to see these kinds of pictures. I can almost smell the air back home when I read these types of threads. ;)

Was it the "Circle"? If so, it's on the way. We did two rounds on it today. :)

These guys didn't lean much at all:

No it's an off road and it's way before that area. OMG that's some nice footage! ;)

I believe it was on the south side of the park area on the parkway. I'll ask him if he knows the turn off name. It's not like a big road. Just a really cool road that offshoots into the park up there, and it's wicked cool on a bike. Barely any traffic too. If you had a group of guys with nextels, you could do some intense leaning if someone told you you were clear on the other end. LOL But don't you dare do it. It's really not safe. Damn it was fun though. Hardest leaning I'd ever done as a passenger and it was back and forth a lot. Intense.

Scary at first but man, what a rush. The guys still don't believe I've only been riding since April. :P

Those roads up there are great, but, I'm sure you've seen how fast and wreckless the cars drive on the PIP. Use caution, as I'm sure you've already heard from others. ;)

Yep. Talking to the Ranger up there he said that most injuries and deaths is from guys wearing the half helmets when they smack in to the rock or even fly off the road.

Yeah. As much as full face sucks, it really is the best thing to use for what you're doing especially with that bike. It's tempting to go nuts on a bike like yours Leon. Be careful.

So come on....fess up. You try to pull the front off the ground yet at all? LOL ;)

Yes. But not with much success. Yet. :)

I won't do power wheelies but take off wheelies? Why not. :)

OK husband just told me if you're going north, you are going to get off on a left exit which there aren't all that many on the PIP. It's in the area of Lake Welch, maybe a little before or after. He said something about the silver mines, so it could be marked silver mine something or other. So it's on the west side of the road, the southbound lanes side, is the side of the parks that road is on. If you never find it no big deal. If you do, well be careful, and have fun. LOL ;)
