Ok, I plan on commuting to/from work on my bike. One issue I'm presented with is, since I have to wear khakis to work, and don't necessarily feel comfortable riding wearing something that's not too sturdy.

So, that leaves me with two options as I see it. One, wear jeans and pack my work pants in a saddlebag, or two, pick up a pair of overpants that I can wear over my work pants while I'm riding.

If anyone has any suggestions, they would be appreciated. Wearing jeans then changing would definitely be cheaper, but a bigger PITA. Overpants would also be able do double duty as raingear though, so that's a consideration as well.

Why not leave the pants at work? This way you can ride in jeans and not bother with packing the pants all the time.

That was essentially my advice that did not post. If you have drycleaning available and somewhere to store them at the office there is no need to ferry them back and forth. I would worry about overpants making your khakis look like you slept in them.
