The engine on that beast is awesome. They used the same engine in the Venture but it was geared differently. Watercooled V-4.

I had an '84 Venture that saw a LOT of use. That's what I hung the sidecar off of when I was running with a chair.

Yeah, it was a really nice ride. Watercooled V-4, shaft drive. As heavy as that bike was, I could still break the rear tire loose, even with a passenger.

Same basic motor that is in my dad's Royal Star Tour Deluxe.

Forgot about that. The Royal Star line is what replaced the Venture.

The Tour Deluxe doesn't look a whole lot bigger than my V-Star. But, there is an extra 100 pounds or so.
