They have some free samples.

They have for both cats and dogs too.
We tried the dog variety of those and they made two of our dogs awfully, ummm, untidy (green diahrrea), the others were fine with it and it did improve their breath. Be forewarned, with multiple pets in the house you can't just give it to one and not the other. ;)

Just be careful with Greenies all. They've had issues with them. (http://cbs2.com/consumer/Greenie.Dog.Treats.2.511156.html)

"In my personal experience in my 20-plus years of practice, I've never seen a dog have to go in and have a piece of a milk bone or a meaty bone surgically removed in terms of causing an intestinal obstruction, so that's a similar type of edible treat. So I don't know if it's about the nature of the composition of the treat; if this is such a good treat the dogs are just too greedy and eating them too quickly but there certainly seems to be some combination of factors that make this more problematic than other treats."
Ok, that's just messed up.

Ya, I remember when that story broke and was all over the news. Haven't had one in my house since.

I am by no means an expert on animals. But in my observations of both dogs and cats I have owned, dogs are "gulpers" and cats are "chewers" when it comes to food and treats. Neut will chew and chew even the tiniest of treats before swallowing.
Should I be worried about letting him have the "greenies"? I'd hate to have anything happen to him that I could avoid... :(

Elspeth's mom's Chihuahua loved those things but she stopped getting them once the problems started being reported. Just not worth the risk and chihuahuas are delicate to begin with so no need to take extra risks.

I stopped buying them after the issues were reported as well. Larger breeds have more of a chance of developing intestinal obstructions, especially deep-chested dogs (like my Akita). No way I'm going to chance losing him over a dog treat.

Mine arrived. Stretch is kinda Meh about them and Momo is definitely not a fan... Oh well, it was free. ;)

They arrived about a week ago here. Neut loves them, standing on his hind legs to rub his cheek against the package if you hold it out... :haha:
And yes, he chews them up quite well...

We've been giving them to our pup for years. I think they changed the composition, made them softer. Used to be they were real hard, and the idea was that it cleaned the dog's teeth. I don't think they are the same as they were 3 years ago.

We started giving them to our three-year-old beagle about two months ago. She absolutely loves them and gets all excited when I take out the bag. She chews them up quite well, but I keep an eye on her just the same.
For our cat, I use C.E.T. chews. They were recommended by our vet. Peaches likes the poultry-flavored ones. :)
