View Full Version : cameras and the airport
Quick question.... I'm bringing the digital camera on my trip... I know that film can be harmed... but, do I have to worry about the flash card? What should I do, just take it out of the camera and carry them in my pocket?

I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. Laptops are run through the machines without harming them so I would assume the same holds true for the flash cards.

I'm unsure but likely it would be prudent to keep the flash cards on your person and not expose them to the x-ray machines as you suggest.

Yup.. Although it deals with film, I would treat all electronic equipment the same way.
ok, it's settled. I'll take the flash card out of the camera, carry both in my pocket and ask them to hand check it.
What the hell...better safe than sorry.
I carry mine through all the time, Ms. Weeks. No problems in the international range.

I've never had any issues either, actually.
