Or not. In 20 years will they be apologizing for reversing the policy and letting the kids get raped and beaten by their alcholholic parents?

The legacy of misinterpreting the stolen generations is that, because of their colour (now politely called culture) children today are left in situations where they are in danger of being mistreated. (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/02/13/2161584.htm)
A child taken from their parents or given up suffers great sadness. The stolen generations debate should concentrate on those taken, and then only in circumstances where the state did so wrongly. (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/02/13/2161584.htm)
As Justice O'Loughlin of the Federal court noted in the Cubillo and Gunner cases in 2000, the Bringing Them Home report did not inquire into separations that were effected with the consent of a child's family. 'Nor did they require a consideration of cases where a neglected, destitute, sick or orphaned child might have been removed without the consent of the child's parents or guardian.'
