Funny, the last one is a link about street sweeping in Taipei. Can't have the huddled masses on the mainland finding out about that. The PRC leadership probably can't take the loss of face if the rest of the citizenry were to discover the Taiwanese weren't continually quaking in fear over Big Brother's antics.

I really can't help but think China remains on the edge of revolution. The political arm stays in power, but at what price? The suppression of information costs them any chance of a free thinking, vibrant society.

I mean, think about it. Will China ever manage to obtain their mighty potential when their people are taught to be drones? Is it any wonder that the most innovation comes out of the West? When you have incentive to think and create, that's the end result, and why a country with over 3 times our population will always being trying to steal our technology as opposed to create technology of their own.

This is generally my biggest issue with the CCP. They're sacrificing tomorrow's innovation by doing their damnedest to keep the average Chinese ignorant of what's outside the country.

I guess I'll say it again: the members of the Politburo are only interested in lining their pockets and retaining their entitlements. They'll allow some advances, but only enough to keep the cash coming in.

It's frightening. And Ken says the US is shortsighted...
