Probably not but until now I thought I was the only one who writes weird. Then I see this post (http://www.globalaffairs.org/forum/showpost.php?p=506409&postcount=3) by Andy. You see what he did here?

I can right stand next to someone with a Blackberry getting no signal and I have 4 bars on my Verizon cell.

I do that shit ALL the damn time. Sometimes I do it with letters within the words. Like if I wanted to write the word winter, it may come out as wniter, or wintre. I am ahead by at least one letter or one word.

Now I doubt Andy is Dyslexic but his post reminded me to ask if anyone know knows how common that is?

The weird thing is it took me a long time to figure out what you were talking about, where the mistake was!

I think it's just a case of the brain thinking faster than the fingers can dictate.

I think so too but it's just weird, no? I see other people type and it's mostly flawless. I make that mistake at least once per sentence.

He actually didn't make any mistakes except that he was typing as one speaks, like in a conversation.

I can stand right next to someone with a Blackberry who is getting no signal, and I'll have 4 bars on my Verizon cell.

When in conversation many of us leave a few words out, but in writing you don't do that. Well, I do. And apparently Andy does too.

See, I should have written "When in a conversation" but I'm speaking while I'm typing, as if I'm talking to you people first hand. :)

And with me on forums I actually would rather type that way. Makes it more personal. Whoops, it makes it more personal.

Stio, you missed what he wrote. Probably just like Mike did initially. ;)

Could just be a lack of concentration? Had you had dyslexic tendencies in school, I'm sure they would have picked it off and gotten you some help with it. They knew about it's existence when I was in school, and I'm older then you are, so it was something that I think your teachers would have been aware of?

Could just be a lack of concentration?

Yep, that's all it is.

Another way of saying the same thing is you were distracted. You tried to start something else before finishing what you all ready started at a basic level but still involved multiple components--and you disrupted the flow of information between the components and started thinking and looking at a different issue or set of instructions before finishing what you "started."

Sometimes when I write I will do like you and start to write witner, but then realize my mistake and squeeze in the N. I don't think it's dyslexia, I just think like it was mentioned before, writing faster than your brain.

You started out doing it right and then switched from OX X to Vista. :haha: With the predictable results! :P

Shoot, you have it easy, Leon. Your mistakes are caught by a decent spell checker. I often type the wrong word entirely, like there instead of their. I know the difference but my fingers are typing a known word while my head is composing the next sentence. Or it could just be CRS.

No, Leon, you aren't dyslexic. Dyslexic would be mostly in how you read the words, not how you type or write them.

I do what you do all the time. My fingers can't keep up with my brain... or sometimes they speed ahead.. and I'm a premature spacer ;)

I'm alway styping like tihs. :yougottabekidding:

"Official" definition and description of dyslexia. (http://www.healthscout.com/ency/68/267/main.html)

For the sake of clarity of thought I will not add my personal opinion. :)

Jeez, based on that, I am certainly NOT dyslexic.

Thanks for all the responses. :)

My writing has definitely got a lot worse after several years of spending too much time online.
Also I use Firefox which obviously has a US spell check and have been surprised at the amount of differences between American English and British English. I'm all zzz's now, which doesn't matter to me unless I am writing something quite formal (to the bank for example) and I have to keep checking words. Yup, I should disable the spell check if it bothers me..

I seem to be going through a phase of screwing up crucial letters in words when on forums too
e.g. writing "It is impotent" instead of "It is important"
