If the party faithful aren't impressed, (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/04/us/politics/04repubs.html?ref=us) what chance does the GOP have? And the election is just a year away.

I think the Headline is misleading: "Within G.O.P., Stumping Fails to Impress."

I'm sure I could just as easily ask a dozen Democrats and get the same results - different people supporting different candidates. This is a non-story with a headline designed to make it appear as though the GOP candidates have no support from Republican voters. In actuality, the people who were polled are still mostly undecided and are thinking of real issues - not who looks best!
