One of the articles linked to here, in a thread, used the word "hanged". Like..this guy hanged himself. Shouldn't it be this guy hung himself? This one always makes me think. LOL

Biker is hung like a horse.Ohhh... so it is an antonym.... or are you speaking of a gelding?
BTW: Hanged seems to be the past tense of hang primarily when speaking of hanging as in execution. Hung appears to be the proper past tense for most other hangings such as hanging a picture on the wall.

I think you're right. Hung is also the past participle of hang.

An easy way to remember is "A person is hanged, an object is hung."

OK, but am I the only one that thinks that it just doesn't sound right? Why can't I read or hear hanged, and have it sound correct to me? I know it's hanged deep inside. The instinct in me though, says it doesn't sound correct. I'm not doubting it is correct, but it just doesn't sound right.

Nah, you're just hung up on it. :)
Forty five years or so ago one of my high school teachers said there was no such proper word as "hung. It was slang. The proper term was hang or some form of hang such as hanged, hanging, etc.
I didn't believe him. After all as on TV and in movies westerns were popular so "hung" was tossed around a lot.
So I looked it up in a standard textbook or standard size dictionary like "Websters", and I was shocked to find hung was not listed.
Reading this thread shows things have changed.

LMAO Bob!
And that's interesting Arc. I can't imagine hung never existing. It's always just been there. :)
