I exchanged emails with Allene today, specifically in regards to this English Language forum.
She is about to leave on extended holiday and should return to us the first days of September. :)
I so look forward to her input.

Hi everyone! Got back last night from visiting family in Nova Scotia. It was a grand vacation, but when I went to bed at 8:30 p.m. I'd been without sleep for 21 hours. Then I woke up this morning at 5 a.m. (9 a.m. Nova Scotia time). If you're looking for any pearls of wisdom from me, you'll have to wait until my brain clears and I get back on Pacific time. This is a neat place. Too bad I can't take part in it until later.
Hope all of you are having a great holiday weekend.

Hi Cyd,
Thanks for the welcome! Hope you had a good vacation too. I'm not sure about being "well." My immediate goal is to stay awake until 9:30 p.m. tonight and not wake up any earlier than 6 a.m. tomorrow morning. This jet lag business is a pain, but who am I to complain about it? We actually managed to get home on time. They have a nonstop flight from Halifax to Chicago's O'Hare now. It makes a big difference because we get out west before the thunderstorms strike.

Welcome back Allene! Hope you get back to normal soon with the time thing.
I'm all messed up today myself, because our rooster decided to be extra loud today at the ungodly time of 4:30 am. I had the option to actually target practice on the thing today, with a 9mm. I chose mercy, and the husband promised he would move the darned birds way out into the field. LOL ;)

Hi Vi,
LOL about the rooster. That's par for the course. They ARE really loud! I named our rooster Hector. It was a very common name among the old Scottish settlers on Cape Breton Island, along with such names as Effie for women. Most of our 16 hens look exactly alike except for a small brown hen that I christened with the aforementioned name. The rest of them I collectively refer to as the cluck-clucks. :) By the way, a neighbor owns half of those hens.

Hi Leon,
Thanks for the welcome. Something must have been in the air yesterday because I had an e-mail from someone I was thinking about and planning to contact. :)
