Agreed. "Going" here is a gerund, a verb form ending in '-ing' that functions as noun. Here it is the direct object of the sentence, so "my" is the correct choice.

He resents my going

is the same as

He resents my departure

However, I would have chosen ME going because it sounds "right". Of course, I would have been wrong.
