(http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/02/business/worldbusiness/02farm.html?pagewanted=1&ref=worldbusiness) :happy: I like reading articles on how businesses and industries are run, and I'm glad NZ's farming communities got their act together. I think the US and Canada should follow suit and cut farming subsidies.

I think we're headed that way. Corn subsidies are likely to fall to very low levels due to corn's role in ethanol production. Soybean prices will likely continue to rise due to biodiesel production. The tobacco subsidy program is gone. Seems we're getting there.
