The more I hear from him, the more I wish he'd just announce.

Bloated Michael Moore challenged him to a debate the other day..

Fred responds.... (http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=611)

Sound worked just fine for me.

"Mental institution Michael. Might be something you should think about."

What's even more funny is that Fred Thompson is currently polling in 2nd place among GOP contenders, and he hasn't even said he's running yet.

Think this country wants a no-nonsense guy or what?

Fred has to wait until the current season of his TV show (Law and Order) is over before he can announce. NBC will have some difficulties with "equal time" if he enters the race before the end of the 'season'. I understand there may be some issues with reruns if he announces but I suspect those issues will be resolved since they are not 'current' shows.

I've heard that too about the current season and re-runs. The rumor is that he won't announce until that can be all squared away, as he doesn't want to punish NBC or the production company.

It is either that... or the electorates truly whacky love for electing screen stars to political office.

Ok, I've seen it and it's a good message. What he did there is to expose, and re-iterate for the ignorant as to what Castro is and what he has done to the homegrown documentary directors within Cuba.

Well, he was in politics before he was an actor, the reason he got into acting was playing himself in a movie called Marie. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089555/) ;)

Edit> and there would be a certain sense of irony if he were elected President, since he became a Senator after being elected to take over AlGore's term.

Not to mention that he plays President Grant in HBO's Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, which premieres near the end of this month.

He had me in the outtakes from The Dukes of Hazard when he came out of the "smokehouse" with Willie and noticed that Jessica Simpson was having a hard time with her lines when she caught him staring at her tits. :haha:

Seriously though, if he bangs McCain for his pro illegal stance he is unstoppable.

We need a free marketer who can combine the genius of Milton Friedman with the media and business savvy of Martha Stewart. Too bad there isn't one now.

You're right - but aside from that, she has good business sense. OK, instead of her, how about the business savvy of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg?
