So saith that paragon of faith and Christian love, the not-so-Reverend Al Sharpton.

As for the one Mormon running for office, those who really believe in God will defeat him anyways, so don't worry about that; that's a temporary situation.

Except he didn't really mean what it sounded like he meant. (http://apnews.myway.com//article/20070509/D8P0LU5G0.html)

So, let's hear the MSM call Sharpton out for his comment:

I'm sorry - where were we?

Bob, have you forgotten that its politically incorrect to speak out against race-baiting, politicos hiding behind a religious title?

He is backpaddling (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070509/ap_on_el_pr/sharpton_romney).

"What I said was that we would defeat him, meaning as a Republican," Sharpton said. "A Mormon, by definition, believes in God. They don't believe in God the way I do, but by definition, they believe in God."

And another interesting note about this story:

The comment was first reported Tuesday in a blog on The New York Times's Web site.

Score another one for blogs.
