I like his points.
Some people think that power should exist only at the top, and everybody else should rely on "the authorities" for protection.
Despite such attitudes, average Americans have always made up the front line against crime. Through programs like Neighborhood Watch and Amber Alert, we are stopping and catching criminals daily. Normal people tackled "shoe bomber" Richard Reid as he was trying to blow up an airliner. It was a truck driver who found the D.C. snipers. Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that civilians use firearms to prevent at least a half million crimes annually.
When people capable of performing acts of heroism are discouraged or denied the opportunity, our society is all the poorer. Link (http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=OTIwYzMyZmQ1YzQ1MDNmZTMyYzQ1Y2U3YTU4YzNmNGE=)
At this point, I really hope he runs.

Agreed. I don't agree with him on everything, but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives, as far as I'm concerned.

There's a statistic you'll never hear on the evening news.

Seriously, can you imagine a debate between Fred and Hillary? It could get brutal.

She would be exposed. I think her biggest problem would be to somehow escape going one on one with someone like him.

I dislike her. I've dealt with her professionally. She has no chance to be elected and if elected would be a TERRIBLE president. But as far as her ability to debate--I think you underestimate her.
She is exceptionally bright, articulate and learns from her mistakes and experiences. Unfortunately ALL she genuinely and ultimately cares about when push comes to shove is personal ambition and power. She is as dishonest as they come internally.
Plus inherent in your conclusion is that the debates candidates have actually have some substance to them. LOL! Just lightweight meaningless dog and poney shows that change few peoples' minds. Some yes. Most no.

I would really, REALLY, like to believe that!
But, I don't.
Because I can't fathom why folks go to her fund dinners and actually give her money to further her effort to be our President.
I mean, she must be convincing a LOT of people, no?
So, how do you figure "Most no"?
As I said, I'd like to believe you're correct, but she IS pulling in a LOT of money in her bid, eh?
Just asking.
Regards,

I am talking about the political debates held between the presidential candidates--not the campaign or the fund raisers etc.
No one, or at least peoples' in any significant numbers decide to vote for one candidate or another based upon the stupid debates where mostly "dumb" questions are asked, and where usually "dumb" or incomplete or even non-responsive, (the latter is most true) answers are given.
Doesn't matter what is said at the debates. Folks have made up their minds by then. They are going to vote for the same person after the debates as they were going to before the debates IMO.
The debates are in reality, though I know many would deny it or debate it isn't true, just a dog and pony show. Pure entertainment for those who like to pretend they are important or make a difference or, gasp, will define the candidate.

Ah, OK, I understand what you were saying now, and I agree.
Thank you for taking the time to spell it out for me.
