Former revolutionaries promised to keep fighting for Cuba on Saturday as the island beefed up security, saying it fears a U.S. attack during Fidel Castro's health crisis. (http://articles.news.aol.com/news/_a/us-calls-fears-of-cuba-invasion-absurd/20060804194309990002?cid=842)

Let me get this straight - the US will only attack when Castro is ill? And how, pray tell, would an energetic Castro deter an American invasion? IOW, what difference would it make to the Pentagon if Castro is sick or well? He's not going to make any difference if there is an attack. Sheesh.

Castro and his brother are merely using the US as the focus of fear to rally the people. Also gives an excuse for increased military activity and increased reason for arrest of anybody they want, they merely have to accuse them of helping us. Old tactic of totalitarian states, focus the anger away from the despot to an outside source.

Why should they fear us? We have been propping up Castro politically and rallying his country around him and against us by our use of economic sanctions that have kept the peoples and the country of Cuba poor for 45 years. All the peoples except Castro and his family and cronies.

As for attacking: One Naval Battle Group and an attack force of Marines could take the island in one week.

Have no fear Stanley. Right now we have our hands full preparing for the invasion of Venezuela.

My priority now is the invasion of North Korea and Iran. Venezuela can wait until Castro goes - after all, if he can protect Cuba, he can protect Venezuela. ;)
