I'm sure it seemed like a good idea at the time, but an Aussie teacher, a woman, has been gaoled for 18 months, 14 months suspended, for having a short lived affair with one of her students. She was the initiator and used instant messages to lure her unsuspecting prey, so it's all the internet's fault.
The victim:), who was on the receiving end of oral sex, was in year 10 which would make him 16.
It hasn't been revealed who cried foul or why. But it's a good story for the boy to tell his mates but of course has ruined the teacher's career. At 16, and I'm not 100% sure of his age, he's legal age. But the violation of the teacher/student relationship is a serious offence. Not the first time this sort of thing has happened, I know. In fact it can be written off as a bit of a yawn, were it not for the fact that the teacher is spending a short time behind bars and will undoubtedly lose her job.
